HTML code snippet

<!DOCTYPE html>
<title>Half Cup Coffee</title>

<h2>Hello World</h2>
<p>This my first HTML paragraph</p>

Snippet Explaination

♦ <!DOCTYPE html> – DOCTYPE defines the document type to be HTML

<html>….</html> – Everything between <html> and </html> describes as an HTML document.

<head>…</head> –  The text between <head> and </head> carries information about the document.

<title>…</title> – Text between <title> and </title> describes the title and shows up at the top of the browser.

<body>…</body> – The text between <body> and </body> is the visible content in web browser. That means what we see in a website is written in between <body> and </body>

<p>…</p> – The text between <p> and </p> becomes a paragraph.

HTML tags

HTML tags are the Keywords written in the angle brackets such as <a>, <p> etc.

They always come in a pair like <h2> and </h2>. The  <h2> is called opening tag and the </h2> tag is called closing tag.

So, the syntax is <tagname> content </tagname>
